Why I Have Chosen to Run as a Write-In Candidate for Clerk

A Voice for Change

As a dedicated member of our community, I believe that every voice matters in shaping our future. Running as a write-in candidate allows me to represent those who feel overlooked by the traditional political process. It empowers constituents to take an active role in their governance, advocating for transparencThe reason I am running is to bring transparency and accountability back into our township governance.

This is how I plan to accomplish the task:

  1. Online checkbook so everyone can see where their tax dollars are going. The taxpayer should know why, where, and how the funds were approved. Who bid on the project and was awarded the contract.  Who is managing the project and their performance to budget.
  2. Give the citizens their voice back at the meetings.
    1. End the restriction of the 3-minute comment only limit at the beginning of the meeting and allow additional comments and questions on each agenda item.
    2. Make sure the citizen receives answers from the board, instead of having their concerns ignored.
  3. All Township meetings will be televised and recorded so they can be available to the citizens any time they want.
  4. Review the voter rolls quarterly to ensure the voter rolls are up to date.
  5. Push the board to use the $4 million leftover COVID funds the Township has to purchase the Fox Hills school property and develop it into an outdoor recreation center for the youth. It should have baseball/softball diamond, concession stand, restrooms, soccer fields, and tennis and pickleball courts.y, accountability, and engagement.
  6. I am committed to bringing fresh perspectives to our local government and ensuring that every constituent has the opportunity to be heard, making our community a better place for all.

About David Thomas for Clerk

A Dedicated Commitment to Serving the Community

I have always been working for the citizens of Bloomfield Township.

In 2016, I uncovered the sewer and water over charges, and then ran for Supervisor.

In 2020, I led the NO SAD team, that stopped the Township wide Special Assessment District property tax surcharge that would have raised the property taxes above the township taxing limits.

I then ran for Clerk to put the Township checkbook online.
